About this instructor





Catherine Prior approaches yoga as a joyful practice of conscious evolution and believes that as movement unfolds on our mats and in our bodies we are provided with an opportunity to influence the greater unfolding of our lives.  She teaches with the intention of enhancing students’ self-awareness and facilitating the somatic transformative process.  Catherine has trained in Prana Flow, Anusara, Pheonix Rising Yoga Therapy, and Jivamukti.  She completed her initial 200-hour Vinyasa training at Peachtree Yoga Center in Atlanta, is registered with the Yoga Alliance, and is currently enrolled in Shiva Rea’s 500-hour teacher training.  Catherine is a student of a variety of movement and energetic modalities.  When not traveling, she lives in Uptown Columbus where she devotes most of her time to Environmental Activism.

Monique French

Monique attended her first yoga class in 2003.  She fell in love with the practice of yoga and all that it has to offer.  Her desire to learn more and deepen her personal practice led her to attend private yoga lessons and yoga workshops.  Sharing yoga with others was a natural evolution of her love for the art and she began teaching in 2006.  She received her Yoga Teacher certification through the Tallapoosa Center for Inner Arts in Carrollton, GA and is a registered member of Yoga Alliance.  The style of yoga that most influences Monique´s personal practice as well as her teaching is Anusara Yoga.  She has embarked on her formal training to become a certified Anusara Yoga Teacher which requires several years of dedicated study. 

Monique lives in Pine Mountain, GA with her husband and their family of beloved pets.  Monique also teaches yoga in Harris County, GA



Judy Barnett

Judy Barnett worked as a nurse anesthetist for 32 years, then went to yoga teacher training and started her second career. She began  practicing yoga at The Art of Yoga with Tanya in 2001, and  received her certification at the Tallapoosa Center for Inner Arts in July, 2007. She also teaches parttime at the Hughston Health Fitness Center, and the YMCA. 





Migrating up the east coast from the Gulf of Mexico to Vermont, native New Orleanean, Mary Lynn Lobello has spent the last thirty years as a dancer, teacher, yoga practitioner, and more recently, certified yoga instructor. Focusing on strength and conscious alignment, Mary Lynn delights in the discovery of an organic bridge between the art of dance and the art of yoga and has eagerly shared this joy with students and friends in Columbus, GA since 2006. She received her early yoga training in the Kripalu tradition. Focusing on teaching approaches rooted in the style of Eric Schiffmann, she received her initial yoga teacher´s certification from the Tallapoosa Center for Inner Arts. She currently studies Anusara yoga with Gina Minyard in Atlanta, GA and will complete Level I Anusara immersion in June 2008. Mary Lynn holds and MA degree from St. Michael´s College in Colchester, VT and also teaches English as a Second Language in Columbus´ public schools.



Tanya Edwards

Tanya Edwards received her teaching certification from Peachtree Yoga Center in 1998 and founded Art of Yoga in 2003. A number of lineages, including Anusara, Ashtanga, and Vinyasa flow inform her unique, integrated teaching style. Inspired by the true gift that yoga has brought to her life, Tanya is honored to share her passions with others.
